Religion is a product of evolution?
Distilling religious belief into a genetic predisposition to p along unverifiable information, the program predicts that religion will flourish is a huge leap of imagination on the part of Dow of how religion will flourish. That humanity has a genetic predisposition to transcend itself would be more accurate, and the development of science itself is evidence of it. The more important question is why did humans evolve such a powerful brain when the cost of such intelligence, evolutionarily speaking, is so high? All other animal strengths have been sacrificed to evolve a brain that makes humans extremely vulnerable, especially during birth and the first twelve years or so of life. Such great brainpower is far, far more than that which is necessary for the survival and perpetuation of the species. What's it for?
