I have been sick 3 weeks, symptoms keep progressing now fever of 101. why?

It started out with just sniffles and a cough. Then congestion in chest. That went on for 2.5 weeks. Then it started to be hard to breathe. I have had bronchitis in the past but this feels worse than that. Late last night, the fever started. Highest it has been is 101.7. I have MAJOR chills. Hard to do anything because of body aches. I am coughing non stop steaming or cough drops does nothing for it. Lots of mucus comes up it is white, clear, sometimes yellow. I have been using tylenol and drinking lots of water but doesn't help just makes me pee a lot. Also, nose keeps alternating between running, sneezing, and being stuffed up. Also last 48 hours cannot keep anything other than fluids down, and diarrhea. Any clue what is wrong with me? Do I need to go to hospital? Or just let it run its course. I cannot afford regular medical treatment but do have a low emergency co-pay.
