Why do you think that, modernly, evolution is still rejected by a large fraction of our society?

Micro-evolution is not rejected by anyone it's God's design to help species within a certain type to adjust to changing habitat, but the evidence to prove macro-evolution (one animal becoming another) is still not here and what they do have is not undisputed.
