If I do something kind for people and it makes me feel good is that selfish?

I'm the kind of guy who puts others first. I like helping people out and tend to do it at my own expense. Donating money anonymously Im even trying to donate a kidney if possible. I suffer from sever depression. When I help people I feel better. Could this be selfish. Am I being nice to look for the felling of helping others.
